Mankato, Minn. --- For the fifth-straight year, the Minnesota State men's track and field program hoisted the championship plaque at the NSIC Indoor Conference Championships.
Powered behind four first-place crowns on day two, the Mavericks totalled 209.2 team points in finishing 110.2 points in front of second place Augustana.
The Mavericks got off to a fast start once again in the triple jump with two athletes placing in the top five.
Alex Campbell (Ellsworth, Wis.) placed second with a jump of 49'00.25''. This is his personal best and the 14
th best in NCAA Division II.

The sprint events saw much more of the same.

Jake Gourley (Eagan, Minn.) barely missed out on the top spot placing second with a time of 6.82.
Richard Wilhite, Jr. (Minneapolis, Minn.) gained some valuable points as well with his fifth-place finish (6.92).
Stewart,
Wilhite, and

Jack Curtis(Lombard, Ill) took home seventh place with a run of 22.59.
After setting a meet record yesterday,
Myles Hunter, was at it again. His winning time of 7.69 shatters his previous record of 7.76. Also gaining points for the Mavericks were
Anyah Nutter in sixth and

Javontee Brice (Bradenton, Fla.) improved on his seventh-place finish last year with by finished fourth this year with his time of 49.69. He was followed closely by teammate
Reid Diamond in fifth (50.50). The 600-meter run final had John Schuster (Wells, Minn.) come in a close second with a time of 1:21.45.

Brennan Holman (Sacramento, Calif.) (2:33.05). He was followed by
Brendan Gessner (Lino Lakes, Minn.) (2:33.62) and
Michael Hoff (Vadnais Heights, Minn.) (2:35.65). An exciting finish in the mile event saw
Austin Pasch(Tomah, Wis) finish second with a time of 4:19.22.
There was some controversy in the men's 4x400-meter relay as MSU would have placed third, but their baton was dropped right before the finish line from some incidental contact. This mishap didn't matter though, as the Mavericks crushed their competition and won the team championship with 209.20 points. To put that in perspective the second place team of Augustana University had 99 points.
Stewart and
Campbell tied with both providing 20 points towards the team standings.
