BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State sophomore
Jess Meidl has been named the
NSIC Player of the Week for her efforts this past weekend.
A native of Lakeville, Minn., Meidl batted .615 (8-of-13) in MSU's four games this past weekend in Clermont, Fla. She also boasted a .769 slugging percentage and went 3-of-3 in stolen base attempts.
Meidl also led the Mavericks in hits last weekend with eight and tied for the team-lead in runs scored with four. Meidl tallied three hits against both Saint Joseph's and Saginaw Valley State, including a pair of doubles against Saint Joseph's.
Meidl is the first Maverick to receive the
NSIC Player of the Week honor since senior
Tatum Klein received the honor during the 2015 season.
The Mavericks continue action at the Spring Games in Clermont, Fla., on Wednesday as they take on Bloomsburg at 12:00 p.m., and Southern Indiana at 2:00 p.m.
