Sioux Falls, S.D. --- The Minnesota State women's track and field team won five events at the Vance Butler Invitational held in Sioux Falls, S.D. Sunday.
Sophomore
Altoniece Williams placed first in the 100m hurdles with a NCAA provisional qualifying and broke her own school set last week with her time of 13.58 today. She also finished first in the 100m with a time of 11.94.
Senior
Mackenzie Beals, who finished second to Williams in the 100m with a time of 12.03, was third in the 200m (:24.70).
Freshman
Khadiya Hollingsworth won the high jump (5-08) and was followed by senior
Kayla Lindell in second (5-07).
Junior
Haley Kruger finished first and provisionally qualified in the 800m (2:13.13), while sophomore
Megan Allen (2:19.01) finished second in the event.
Sophomore
Stacy Smidt claimed first place in the 400m with a time of 57.86, while freshman
Kimm Wreh was second with a time of 59.05.
Senior
Samantha Soupir placed second in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 11:49.82. Earning third-place finishes on the day were senior
Marina Paul in the 3000m (10:38.05),
Taylor Glover in the 400m hurdles (1:06.73) and junior
Ariel Thomas in the triple jump (37-02.25).
The Minnesota State 4x400m relay team, consisting of Haley Kruger, Mackenzie Beals, Amelia Kjos and Stacy Smidt turned in a time of 3:54.56 in placing second.

The Mavericks will continue their season on April 7-8, as they travel to Maryville, Mo., to take part in the NSIC-MIAA Showdown.
