MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's track and field team hosted the Minnesota State University Alumni open at Myers Field House Saturday.
The day started off with Minnesota State taking the top three spots in the 1-mile run.
Erin Baker led the way with a time of 5:10.42 followed incredibly closely by
Megan Allen (5:10.44
). Megan Serratore rounded out the top three sweep with a time of 5:23.71. For the 60-meter hurdles
Afure Adah finished second for the Mavericks with a time of 9.01 and
Carolyn Hackel finished third with a time of 9.07.
The success would continue as the 400-meter dash saw Minnesota State claim the top three spots led by
Crystal Malone (57.38).
Kimmy Wreh (59.64) and
Amelia Kjos (1:00.21) finished second and third respectively while
Taylor Glover (1:01.31) placed seventh. In the 600-meter run
Jessica Boespflug (1:39.73) and
Becca O'Hotto (1:49.86) finished second and fourth respectively. For the 60-meter dash
Karlona Gregory was the top finisher for the Mavericks earning second place with a time of 7.78.
Gabi Gaines (7.79),
Autumn Santos (7.85), and
Sydney Reysack (8.03) finished the 60-meter dash third, fifth, and seventh respectively. Minnesota State continued their strong day with
Maddi Sjelin winning the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.07 with
Bobbi Patrick (2:28.99) earning third place. The 3000-meter run had
Lily Paul (11:25.64),
Jaylynn Lauer (11:53.68), and
Mariah Betzler (11:58.48), finish fourth fifth and sixth.
The 200-meter dash was dominated by the Mavericks with Adah (25.29),
Gregory
(25.50), and
Brieanna Puckett (25.53) earning the top three spots. Santos (25.93) and Wreh (25.98) also finished fifth and sixth. The final running event for the day saw the team of
Brieanna Puckett , Hackel,
Jessika Dieringer, and
Racquel Beckett earn second place in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:14.72.
For the long jump, Puckett
Emma Edelen (14.35m) and
Sarah Knutson (13.93m) finished third and fourth respectively in the weight throw for the Mavericks.
Khadiya Hollingsworth (1.71m) and
Brianna Ziolkowski (1.68) earned first and second place in the high jump.
Ariel Thomas earned first place in the triple jump with a best distance of 11.78m. In pole vault
Erin Neveau earned fourth place with a final height of 3.30m.
Minnesota State will be performing next Saturday at the Minnesota Open, which will be hosted in Minneapolis, Minn.
