Brookings, S.D.--- The Minnesota State women's track and field traveled to South Dakota State University Friday and Saturday to participate in the SDSU Indoor Classic.
In the 60-meter hurdles
Altoniece Williams finished eighth with a time of 9.61 after running the qualifying round in 8.63 which meets provisional qualifying standards and ties for the 13
th best time in DII this season.
Karlona Gregory finished the 200-meter dash in ninth place with a time of 25.17 and
Autumn Santos (25.51) finished in 14
th. In the 400-meter dash
Amelia Kjos (57.94),
Kimmy Wreh (58.12), and
Taylor Glover (58.37) finished eleventh, thirteenth and sixteenth respectively.
In the 600-meter run
Haley Kruger finished fourth with a tie of 1:34.56,
Bobbi Patrick finished seventh with a time of 1:37.04, and Glover finished ninth with a time of 1:37.13. Kruger also finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.09 which is good enough to meet provisional qualifying standards, and is the 14
th best in DII this season. Teammate
Megan Allen finished fifth with a time of 2:12.37 which also provisionally qualifies her, sets a new personal best, and gives her the 15
th best time recorded in DII. Allen also set a personal record in the 1000-meter run finishing second with a time of 2:54.43.
Khadiya Hollingsworth finished the high jump in fourth place with a final height of 5'4.25" and
Rachel Schumacher finished in ninth place with a leap of 5'2.25". In the long jump
Brieanna Puckett took first place with a jump of 19'4" which is a new personal best, provisionally qualifies her, and is the 11
th best jump in DII this season.
Ariel Thomas finished seventh in the long jump with a distance of 17'11.75"
Sarah Knutson finished seventh in the shot put with a distance of 38'6". In the wight throw
Emma Edelen finished fifth with a best throw of 49'5"
Minnesota State will host the NSIC Multi Sunday and Monday as the Pentathlon will be completed for the NSIC Conference Championships.
