Mankato, Minn.--- The Minnesota State women's track and field team hosted the Birdman Open Friday evening at Meyers Field House.
The evening began with
Altoniece Williams finishing first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.44, a provisional qualifying mark as well as tying the best time of the season recorded in Division II on the season. In the 60-meter dash
Gabi Gaines (7.68) finished first and
Brieanna Puckett (7.69) finished second.
Afure Adah Improved her time in the 200-meter dash by running a 24.71 which is converted to 24.34 for national qualifying, a mark that is the fifth best in Division II recorded this season.
Taylor Naatz won the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.93 and
Mary Fixsen(1:42.03) finished first in the 600-meter run. In the 800-meter run
Haley Kruger improved her time to 2:12.94 which is a provisional qualifying mark, and with national conversions applied the time was reduced to 2:11.43 which is the 14
th best mark in Division II this season.
Khadiya Hollingsworth took first in the high jump with a height of 5'8" and
Faryn Wirkus won the pole vault with a clear of 11'9.75". In the weight through
Sarah Knutson finished first with a throw of 49'4.5".
Minnesota State will host the NSIC Indoor Championship next Friday and Saturday at Meyers Field House.
