Thirteen Home Games Highlight 2017-18 Maverick Women’s Basketball Schedule

MANKATO, Minn. ---  The Minnesota State women's basketball team will take part n 28 games in its upcoming 2017-18 season, including 13 regular season games at Taylor Center.

The Mavericks will open their schedule with a pair of exhibitions contests beginning on November 1 as they host St. Olaf at 6:00 p.m. MSU will then travel to Nebraska for a 2:00 p.m., game on Nov. 5 to wrap up exhibition play. 

Minnesota State opens its regular season schedule in Kansas City, Mo., as it takes on a pair of opponents from MIAA including Washburn on Nov. 10 and Pittsburg State on Nov. 11. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

MSU then opens its regular season home schedule on Tuesday, Nov. 14 as it hosts Black Hills State at 6:00 p.m. The Mavericks will then head to Honolulu, Hawaii, to take on Hawaii Pacific (Nov. 22) and Chaminade (Nov. 23). Game times in Hawaii have not been set.

Minnesota State's NSIC schedule begins on the first weekend of December as the Mavericks host Wayne State on Friday, Dec. 1, before facing Augustana on Saturday, Dec. 2. Game times are set for 6:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m., respectively.

The Mavericks then hit the road for a pair of NSIC games at Winona State (Dec. 8/6:00 p.m.) and Upper Iowa (Dec. 9/4:00 p.m.), before returning to Taylor Center to close out 2017 with a four-game homestand. MSU will host Concordia-St. Paul on Friday, Dec. 15, at 6:00 p.m., before it wraps up its nonconference schedule against Palm Beach Atlantic on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 4:00 p.m. Minnesota State then wraps up its four-game homestand with a pair of games against MSU Moorhead (Dec. 30/6:00 p.m.) and Northern State (Dec. 31/4:00 p.m.).

Minnesota State opens the month of January with a four-game road trip beginning on Jan. 5 at Augustana and Wayne State on Jan. 6. Game times are set for 6:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m., respectively. MSU will then travel to North Dakota to take on Minot State on Friday, Jan. 12, at 6:00 p.m., and the University of Mary on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 4:00 p.m.

The Mavericks then wrap up the month of January with five more NSIC encounters, including four at Taylor Center. MSU will play host to Sioux Falls (Jan. 19/6:00 p.m.) and Southwest Minnesota State (Jan. 20/4:00 p.m.), before traveling to Concordia-St. Paul for a 6:00 p.m., game on Tuesday. Jan. 23. MSU then returns to Taylor Center to take on Minnesota Crookston on Friday, Jan. 26, and Bemidji State on Saturday, Jan. 27. Game times are set for 8:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m., respectively.

Minnesota State concludes its regular season schedule with six NSIC games in the month of February. MSU will take to the road to take on Minnesota Duluth (Feb. 2/6:00 p.m.) and St. Cloud State (Feb. 3/4:00 p.m.), before returning to Taylor Center for its home finale against Upper Iowa (Feb. 9/6:00 p.m.) and Winona State (Feb. 10/4:00 p.m.). The Mavericks then close out their regular season schedule on the road as they take on Southwest Minnesota State on Friday, Feb. 16, and Sioux Falls on Saturday, Feb. 17. Game times are set for 6:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m., respectively.

The first round of the NSIC Tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 21, with its game time and location to be determined. The final three rounds of the NSIC Tournament will take place at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., from Feb. 25-27.

The NCAA Central Region Tournament site is to be determined and will be held on March 9, 10 and 12. The NCAA Elite Eight will be held at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., on March 19, 21 and 23.
