MANKATO, Minn. --- Minnesota State head football coach
Todd Hoffner has announced that 23 student-athletes will join the Maverick football team in the fall.
All signings are contingent upon admission to MSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
This year's recruiting class features 23 student-athletes from four different states including Iowa (8), Minnesota (7), Wisconsin (7) and Nebraska (1).
"As a staff we are excited to add the next layer of student-athletes to our football program," Hoffner said. "Our football coaches have worked hard to secure a recruitment class stacked with gifted and talented football players. Speed, athleticism and agility are common threads in the 2018 recruitment class.
"Our coaching staff deserves all the credit in moving this group from prospects to Mavericks. Special thanks to all the support staff behind the scenes who helped the young men through the recruitment process. We still have some things we'd like to accomplish and with the support of the Mav Nation fan base, we can help these young men make their dreams become reality."
Minnesota State finished its 2017 season with a 13-1 record and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
