Pre-MSU:  Attended Iowa Central Community College from 2007-2009 and posted a 2.07 ERA with 71 strikeouts in 61 innings...went 6-3 with five complete games and two shutouts...named First-Team All-Region.

High School:  2007 Lakeville (Minn.) North High School grad....Hit .421 senior season in 2007 with 1.45 ERA and 6-3 record...Named All-Lake Conference and all-state honorable mention as a senior.

Personal: Born December 10, 1988...son of Jerry and Debora Mitchell...proposed sports management major.
