Biography

2017: Hit .350 for career and along the way established a school record for career runs scored (225)..Ranks in the top five at all-time at Minnesota State in six additional statistical categories: stolen bases (T-4th, 56), doubles (3rd, 48), triples (T-3rd, 10), at-bats (2nd, 735), hits (2nd, 257) and games played (4th, 210)...Hit .396 with eight home runs and 34 runs batted in as a senior...Finished 2017 tied for ninth in NCAA DII with a .520 on-base percentage and tied for second in hit by pitch (25)... 2017 D2CCA All-Central Region Second Team selection...Member of 2017 NCBWA All-Central Region Second Team, NCAA DII Baseball Central Regional All-Tournament Team and named All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team.   

2016: Started all 54 games for Minnesota State in 2016...Led team with 62 runs to tie for second on Maverick all-time single-season list...Finished the season ranking fourth on school's all-time career runs list with 163 (Eric Lonnquist (1999-2002) had 182 career runs to rank first)...Recorded a 12-game hit streak and 22-game reached base streak to start season...Ranked second on the team with .351 batting average...Led Mavericks with 13 steals.

2015: Started 38 games and appeared in 40...Hit .340 with 50 hits, one triple, three home runs, 13 doubles and 47 runs scored...Hit go-ahead home run against #3 St. Cloud State to give the Mavericks a 6-5 win...Had 17 multi-hit games.

2014: Started 57 of 59 games...Fifth on the team in RBI (33), fourth in home runs (4) and third in runs (54) while leading the way in stolen bases (19)...Hit .310 with a .450 slugging percentage, 10 doubles and three triples... .968 fielding percentage...Had a season-high four RBI and four hits at Southwest Baptist on Feb. 17...Had a 17-game hitting streak snapped on May 3...Had a 25-game, on-base streak snapped on May 25...Named 2014 NSIC Freshman of the Year.

2013: Redshirted.

Personal: Two-time all-state and all-conference selection at Eagan (Minn.) High School...Hit .365 with 12 RBI and ten steals as a senior...Hit .414 junior season with ten doubles and 10 stolen bases for the Wildcats...Son of Tom and Molly Peterson...Dad is a former MSU men's hockey player (6-39--45 in 83 GP with the Mavericks from 1982-85)...He also played hockey at Eagan.
