About the Maverick Achievement Awards
This year marks the 25th year for the Maverick Achievement Awards. The program has sought to recognize true student-athletes at Minnesota State. Requirements for the award stipulate that recipients be seniors, letterwinners and have a grade point average of 3.00 or better going into their senior year. Over the past 25 years, 781 other student-athletes have been honored as Maverick Achievement Award winners. The student-athletes recognized today are an elite group who personify Minnesota State’s total commitment towards achieving a strong balance between academics and athletics.
