Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why should I join the Minnesota State University Athletics Rewards Program.
The program is a great way to spread school spirit and meet new people while cheering the Maverick athletic teams to victory. IT'S PART OF YOUR COLLEGE EXPERIENCE! We're all proud of our school and excited to help our teams win by supporting their achievements and creating a home site advantage that is unique to Minnesota State University. Additionally, you receive terrific benefits just for attending games and your $10 investment in the program. Or you can join for all 4 years you are at MSU for only $35.
2. How does the Rewards Program work?
Students use their MavCard to attend the games, once you have entered the venue locate the Student Rewards Kiosk near the student entrance. A staff member will scan your MavCard and distribute rewards accordingly.
3. I forgot my MavCard, can I still receive my loyalty points?
MavCards are not only necessary to receive loyalty points at athletic events, they are also required for student entrance to home athletic events.Â
5. I was at the game last week but didn't get my MavCard scanned, can I receive my points today?
You must get your MavCard scanned at the event to receive points.
6. What events are eligible to receive Rewards Points?
As a team member you can score loyalty points by getting your MavCard scanned at the Student Rewards Kiosk at all home Maverick volleyball, football, soccer, men's and women's basketball, wrestling, baseball and softball events. Watch for select events which may be worth additional points. Not all athletic events are offered due to the number of athletic events that do occur simultaneously.Â
7. Do my points roll over from year to year?
You will have the chance to renew your membership for the next year in the spring. However, all scoring is based on one school year and everyone returns to zero at the start of a new year. Each member is then able to earn more prizes as they rebuild their loyalty levels the following year. Each year members also receive new T-shirts and member items.
8. What if I go to two events in one day? Will I get points for two events? And what about double headers?
Each game is a separate event, regardless of the date. If you go to a women's basketball game in the afternoon and stick around for the men's game at night, you can get two separate scans. The ONE exception is baseball and softball. If you go to a baseball or softball doubleheader and are scanned at both games, you get points for one event.
9. How do I know how many points I have?
