Fourteenth Ranked Minnesota State Downs MSU Moorhead on Senior Night

Mankato, Minn. --- In their final home game of the season, the Mavericks played host to and defeated the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons in a five set thriller. Minnesota State defeated MSU Moorhead in sets one, three and five by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 15-7.

Freshman standout Chelsea Fogarty (Belle Plaine, Minn.) earned a career-high 24 kills to help lead the Mavericks past the Dragons. Junior middle blocker Kimber Kuhl (Chaska, Minn.) and senior right-side hitter Ally Kwikkel (Waverly, Iowa) both contributed on tha attack with Kuhl generating 16 kills on the evening with a team best .500 hitting percentage and Kwikkel eanring 11 kills.

Setting up her teammates for the victory was sophomore setter Brittany Stamer (Hutchinson, Minn.) who accumulated a career-high 64 assists in the match.

Defensively, junior middle blocker Amanda Thompson (Stewartville, Minn.) and Kwikkel continued to protect the net each earning four blocks. Sophomore defensive specialist Alli Rice (Owatonna, Minn.) led the Mavericks in digs with 22, while Stamer earned 19.

Minnesota State wraps up the regular season on the road this weekend, competing at  Northern State on Friday, 7:00 p.m. and at Mary on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
