Mavericks Jump a Spot in AVCA Top 25 Preseason Poll

MSU to Finish Non-Conference Schedule with Nova Southeastern Tournament

    Lexington, Kentucky -- The Minnesota State volleyball team jumps a spot to 17th after receiving 309 points in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 poll which was released today.

MSU is one of five Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference schools ranked in the top-25. Other NSIC schools include #1 Concordia-St. Paul, #5 Minnesota Duluth, #10 Southwest Minnesota State and #19 Wayne State.

The Mavericks are scheduled to wrap-up non-conference action this weekend in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in the Nova Southeastern Tournament. MSU will face Christian Brothers and West Alabama Friday, then District of Columbia and Lynn on Saturday.

The Mavericks currently sit 4-0 overall in 2010.
