Box Score Bemidji, Minn. --- Minnesota State dropped its fifth straight at Bemidji State to the Beavers Friday, 2-0.
A pair of Bemidji State seniors put the Beavers up 1-0 at the 7:51 mark of the first, which also ended up being the game-winner. Captain Annie Bauerfeld gained control of the puck in BSU’s zone, backhanded the puck up ice to an all alone Erin Johnson who beat Minnesota State netminder Alli Altmann stick side for the goal.
Bemidji State added a second goal, empty net, scored by sophomore Emily Erickson.
BSU tallied 26 shots, while MSU had 22.
Neither team was able to capitalize with an extras skater as the Mavericks went 0-for-1 and the Beavers went 0-for-2.
Altmann finished with a game-high 24 saves, while Bemidji State’s goaltender Zuana Tomcikova tallied 22 saves.
Minnesota State (6-16-3, 5-13-1-0 WCHA) and Bemidji State (11-9-3, 9-7-3-2 WCHA) will take the ice again tomorrow afternoon at 2:07 p.m. at Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minn.
