Box Score Mankato, Minn. --- The Mavericks were swept by Minnesota Duluth this weekend, dropping Saturday’s contest, 3-0.
The Bulldogs improve to 16-7-3 overall and 14-7-3-0 in the WCHA, while the Mavericks drop to 7-20-3 overall and 6-17-1-0 in the WCHA.
UMD used a balanced scoring attack to down the Mavericks, tallying a goal in each period. Freshman forward Dana Gallop tallied the first period goal at 1:00, sophomore winger Audrey Cournoyer scored in the second at 5:43 and senior Laura Fridfinnson scored the game final goal in the third period at the 3:10 mark.
Minnesota Duluth notched 48 shots to MSU’s 17. Neither team capitalized with an extra skater, with MSU going 0-for-4 and UMD going 0-for-5.
Minnesota State junior goaltender Alli Altmann finished with 45 saves, a season-high, while UD goaltender Jennifer Harss had 17 saves.
Minnesota State will travel to face St. Cloud State next weekend for a WCHA-series with the Huskies.
