Minnesota State junior Briel Hendricksen is in her second season competing for the Mavericks. The defensive specialist was born on January 17th, 1992 to Todd and Jenifer Hendricksen. A native of Lakefield, Minn., Hendricksen was a four time letter winner at Jackson County Central. She was named all-conference, All-State First-Team and all-area in volleyball her senior year. She also earned all-conference and all-area Second-Team honors her junior year.

This past season Hendricksen finished second on the team with 19 service aces and had a .899 serving percentage. She also recorded 242 digs, with an average of 2.57 a game, which was the fourth best on the team. Hendricksen received the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week award on Nov. 5.

“Briel has an out-going and engaging personality and people are drawn to her ‘let’s go’ attitude,”  said head coach Dennis Amundson. “Athletically Briel’s best quality is her quickness but she also reads the game well. She works hard and we expect her to help anchor our backcourt play.”
