Mavericks Honored by USTFCCCA For Academic Success

New Orleans, La. — Eight Minnesota State University track and field athletes where named to the 2009 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team.

To be eligible, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met the NCAA Division II Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.

Seniors Megan Hutchinson (Quakertown, Penn.), Kaycie Merrihew (Rio, Wis.), and Katelin Rains (Spring Lake Park, Minn.) where named to the team along with juniors Brittany Henderson (Milwaukee, Wis.), Whitney Kroschel (Afton, Minn.) and Kelsey Leonard (Hermantown, Minn.) and sophomores Laura Palmer (Pittsville, Wis.) and Lauren Stelten (Cologne, Minn.)

The Mavericks finished 10th at the 2009 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships and were ninth at the 2009 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships.
