MANKATO, Minn. --- Minnesota State volleyball blanked the Minot State in straights sets, (25-14, 25-11, 25-19), at Taylor Center Saturday afternoon.
The win for the Mavericks improved their overall record to 8-5 and are now 2-3 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. Their sweep of the Beavers was their second of the weekend and dropped Minot State to 3-10 overall and 0-5 in the NSIC.

Megan Hulscher both registered four kills with Minnesota State taking the first set 25-14.
Sophomore Anissa Janzig started the second frame strong for the Mavericks with a block. Minnesota State then increased its lead through freshman
Micayla Porter to 9-5 with her second service ace of the match. Kills by Powell and Hulscher put the Mavericks in a position to take the set 25-11 with Lee scoring the set point with a service ace.
In the third and final frame, Minot State took an early 4-3 advantage. The Beavers kept the set close until another Hulscher kill put the Mavericks ahead 11-10. Minnesota State began to pull away in the third set with kills by Janzig, freshman
Alivia Garbe, and a service ace by freshman
Mara Quam. The Mavericks went on to take the set 25-19, and the match, 3-0.
Minnesota State held the edge in kills, 45-26, assists, 43-26, and digs, 30-29.
Garbe led the Mavericks with 11 kills and senior
Jackie Jones added nine. Quam contributed a team-best 10 digs. Porter tallied a match-high 22 assists and junior
Autumn Risch chipped in 19 assists to round out the top performers.
Minnesota State will return to action on Sept. 29 at Northern State. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
